Camp Week

A group of us got together to put on a mini-camp for the kids at a local apartment complex this week. We had a GREAT time! It brought me back to the good ole Maywood days! Chad and I were counselors for the 9-11 age group. We had team building activites, break-out groups, ate together, and great singing! The singing was my favorite part, because of all the newer-type, devotional songs. It was a great week and God definitely used it to strengthen my spirit!
Trying to balance on the board as a team...
Of course, competitive Chad had to try!

Break-out groups...

Sarah Rose about to kick...
Joseph as pitcher...
Chad with two of the boys from our break-out group...
Jonah covering third...
One night we made Play-Doh hammers to emphasize the lesson we had learned...
Then, we made one large hammer as a team...
Okay, this is one of the finer moments in my life. Chad and I were on a relay team on one of the days... and who did they pick to do the "Leap Frog" part?....the two thirty-year-olds on the team. Thanks to Alyson for the picture! :) We won though!
Working in teams to build the biggest tower...
Our "spider web" of sharing....
Just after we all pigged out!
Sheila, Tim, and Marian...
Sue, Sheila, and Tanya...posing..."the kitchen choir" :)
I thought this was a good picture because we were going to try and hit Caleb with a water balloon...If you look at the middle of Caleb's back you can see the blue balloon...but it bounced off instead of broke...so we didn't get the laugh we were expecting!
Basketball...
Bean bag toss...

Caleb while turning for the Dizzy Bat relay....
He fell shortly thereafter....
Mr. Tim gave it a try with one of the neighbors...
Discusssion...

You may never know the impact you made on those lives at your mini-camp here on earth but know you made an eternal difference & both shared and showed the love of the Lord throughout it. You & Chad rock Lori! :)
